What started out in 1997 as a Internet Coffeehouse, The Gypsys Den has since grown into a full blown Classic Rock and Roll Nightclub. In 2000 we became a full Liquor Bar and changed our name from The Cybersurf Cafe' to The Gypsy's Den. We started in April of 2003 the remodeling phase of the Den. We finished up phase 1 in July, bringing alot of new space and a whole new look. We hope you like it!!!
We have for your enjoyment a Billiards Room with 2 tables, Gameroom with foosball, pinball, and some of your favorite arcade games, Tabletop games, and TV's throughout so you can watch your favorite sport or your favorite show. We still have a couple of computers too so you can check your e-mail or just surf the web. Jane (your hostess at 'the Den') and the girls behind the bar will always make you feel right at home, and make some of the best drinks around. On Friday and Saturday you'll usually find our house band, Emerald Gypsy, jamming the classic rock, and you can try your hand at the Texas-hold-em Poker table. Occasionally you'll find other local classic rock and blues bands for your enjoyment. On Thursday, come sing with Cindy from P.O.E.T.S. Karaoke. Sunday and Monday, we are closed.
Our house band, Emerald Gypsy, is comprised of several musicians from around the area. Ronnie Prestridge (drums), from Crystal River, played with 'the Heartbreak Kids' and SOL. Randy 'Hangman' Ayers (guitar), from Inverness, and was one of the founding members of 'Hangman Jury'. John Ladd (keyboards and guitar) and Randy 'Shades' Irwin (guitar), come to us from 'The Mad Hatter Band'. Mark Davis (bass), also from Crystal River, (your host at 'the Den') was one of the founding members of 'Landmine Butterfield' and EOS. Eric Young works the magic in the mixing booth for sound and lights. The group's songlist is a good blend of classic rock, ranging from Aerosmith to Zeppelin, Pink Floyd to The Doobies, and much more.
With over 5600 watts of stereo sound, and a light show ranging from lasers to moving heads, and a decor that sports finished wood, tye-die, vintage concert posters, a lava-lamp or two, and much more, we hope that you'll find a nice comfortable place to 'hang out', and see, hear, and feel a little bit of yesterday. Hope to see you here!
