The Stray Cat is a hybrid between an art gallery and a club with music styles as diverse as the art. It is the only club in KC with a booking agent and a curator. The Stray Cat boasts beautiful hardwood floors, shiny brick walls, 16 foot ceilings, a mezzanine overlooking the hall, and a pool room. The stage is 2 feet high and made up of a bunch of peices of welded steel frames that can be moved to any spot in the hall in a number of different configurations, including many with a drum riser.
The second floor is the 'green room' available to the bands' guestlists. It is the same massive size as the hall and has more amenities than most clubs outside of arena venues. Located in the heart of the KC skyline, The Stray Cat is a walk from countless restaurants, hotels, and shops.
The front of The Stray Cat is a retail store stocked with local and national gear, bands' merch, as well as affordable versions of the art on the gallery walls. The facility also has Internet terminals scattered throughout and a fledgling tea parlor. One stop rock, which has been voted the best underground hideout in KC by the Kansas City Star. We still like to think of ourselves as underground, however.
