The Sad Cafe (http://www.thesadcafe.com) is a nonprofit organization offering after school programs, weekend evening entertainment featuring teen bands, teen dances, parenting programs and other events in a drug-free, teen friendly environment. In addition to the daily after-school programs, we have weekend performances showcasing local amateur musicians and actors.
The mission of The Sad Cafe is to promote positive life choices for teens and adolescents through innovative programming. We provide a unique family friendly music and theatre venue where aspiring musicians and actors can perform before a live audience of peers, giving them confidence, recognition and appreciation for their efforts.
Teens from all over southeastern New Hampshire flood to the Sad Café to hear bands in an environment among their peers that they know to be safe and substance-free. Over the course of the past year more than four hundred teen bands and single artists have played at the Sad Café drawing over 10,000 area youth, 75% of whom are teens 14-18 years of age.
