Located at 1601 Fillmore in the heart of San Francisco’s old Fillmore district, the location boasts a colorful history of playing host to the “who’s who” of blues musicians in a neighborhood known for its musical roots. In its previous incarnation, the club had been a favorite hangout of John Lee’s. The establishment of the club at this venerable location also marked the beginning of the area’s planned revival as the Bay area’s blues and jazz district in 1997 – a resurgence supported by the Fillmore Jazz Preservation District and San Francisco Redevelopment Agency. Today, the BooM BooM RooM continues to provide stellar entertainment with a list that grows weekly of legendary and rising musicians that come to call the club their home away from home in San Francisco.
