Spleen sisters are the result of the musical inspiration that band founders Dave and Hadri had in early 2006. Dave Dash and Hadri Franck used to play together as drummer and bassist in the power-pop band RAXOLA, but they soon figured out that their musical preferences tended to be more subtle and mellow (as in Dave’s earlier project SHIVER), yet powerful and aggressive (as both their references tend to be). The idea behind Spleen sisters is to offer an audience a deeply musical experience through Dave’s strong voice and Hadri’s ear-ripping guitar riffs. Their personal touch mixed with Jeremy’s powerful drums strokes and Rody’s groovy bass lines give the audience a taste of melodic pop-rock that can easily be heard by any rock lover.
Dave (vocals/guitar) played as drummer/vocalist in punk band NO WAY (1999-2003), singer in rock band MADMAN LAUGHING (1999-2000, now JELLY), singer/guitarist in acoustic band SHIVER (2004-2005) and as drummer/vocalist in power-pop band RAXOLA (2004-2005). Hadri Franck (guitar/vocals) played as guitarist in folk rock band NINE NINETY-NINE (2004-2005), in NON NOVA SED NOVE (1999-2002), as guitarist and then bassist in power-pop band RAXOLA (2003-2005) and in multiple projects ranging from acid jazz to hip-hop. Jeremy (drums) played with NINE NINETY-NINE and features lots of bands including jazz, hip-hop and funk.Rody (bass) also plays with French-speaking folk band BALIMURPHY and toured a lot in the Belgian scene with other projects.
The year 2006 is a turning point for the 4 guys in the band. Before the sPLEEN sISTERs, they never really played music that they enjoyed, but setting up the band let them express their talent on stage and show the real power and emotion in their instruments. After only playing a few concerts, they got very positive feedback and were motivated to start touring dates like crazy. That tour will start in august.
