Lightyear is a Tempe, AZ-based rock band, formerly known as 'Six Point Restraint.' Although the band is young, their songwriting and performances are not new to the rock scene of the Southwestern United States. With members of the band playing together for nearly six years, the band has evolved into a unique sound of hook driven guitar rock with strong melodic vocals.

Lightyear regional college touring, which included the CTN tour w/Cherry Recording Artist 'Stroke 9'. As well as performing at NXNW in Portland in 1998.

The band has also performed concerts and music festivals with Robin Wilson (Gin Blossoms), Roger Clyne and the Peacemakers (Refreshments), Hootie and the Blowfish, Sugar Ray, Air Supply, and Pink
