Inventive and and profiled guitarpop bands are very hard to find anywhere around Germany. Therefore a band like GLORIA is more of a rarity in this area. Gloria stand for huge pop! Devotion, dreamy melancholy, explosive anger, a characteristic sound and unique male vocals are all attributes people can’t put into a certain folder very easily.

Some might say that the Indie-guitarpop days were over, but gloria convince people that being a guitar band does not mean to create noise all the time neccesserily, that one can also use other instruments - and yes even electronics - and that not every second song sounds the same.

Gloria started in early 1998 and are now: Andreas Walenzyk (drums), René Klein (bass), Barbara Hoefgen (electric guitar, keys), Jeffrey Kubiak (electric guitars, synths) and André Scherer (vocals, acoustics, synths and programming).

The demo ep “porn starlet dreams” (2000) gives a first marginal impression of the variety of gloria’s music, but to experience the whole shebang you have to see them play live.
