dfl. Formed in the summer of 2002 after the breakup of former band starsixnine. The two gutarists from starsixnine, combined forces with a new experienced drummer and an acappela singer to form dfl. The songs heard have different entities that make up the overall atypical sound that is dfl.
The lead singer, Alec, is straight outta New England with the accent and all. Tim and Dave, the guitarist and bassit, hail from the good ole state of deleware. Mark originally from Pittsburgh now calls Maryland his crib.
Each member brings their own personailty to this collaboration of music. Alec has a voice reminiscent of the Cars and STP. Tim's hot licks are not a far cry from a old smashing pumkins stirred with a little Impossibles. Dave's bass wants to be a screaming guitar straight outta a RATM song and Mark's drums are a syncopation of emo and funk rock with a little splash of beatboxin.
dfl has appeared at a few places since '02. The Ground Floor, The Hippodrome, Johnny K's and the Grog and Tankard are a few places played. As the summer approches, more dates are beginning to appear. dfl will be playing shows mainly in the Baltimore, DC area, with a few shows in DE and Boston. Good times ahead. See ya out there.
