World Force Reggae Band was formed in Louisville, KY in 2002 by Keyboardist/Vocalist/Songwriter, Sioweza, London-born bassist, Basil, and drummer, Ryano in a garage. With their next level style of roots reggae and Rasta spirit they later added Jamaican-born dj/percussionist, Ras Ibuka, guitarist extraordinaire, Wade, and vocalist/spoken word artist/lyricist/songwriter, WisdomBorn and the World Force Reggae sound truly took form.
The Members of World Force hail from a number of backgrounds and experiences. Sioweza, keyboardist/vocalist, is a native of Louisville,KY who has been playing, singing and writing reggae, hip hop rhymes and r&b songs for over a decade. London-born bassist, Basil, has been immersed in reggae music his entire life growing up in a Jamaican community in England. He has been playing bass for most of his life including studio work with the great Lee 'Scratch' Perry. Ras Ibuka was born and raised on the island of Jamaica entering its colorful music scene as a dj. He now does percussion and vocals with that familiar lilting Patois that brings that added island spice to World Force's sound. Drummer, Ryano and guitarist, Wade, represent for Southern Indiana bringing with them an interesting compilation of musical styles from rock to Lakota Indian influences. Vocalist/songrwiter/Spoken Word artist, WisdomBorn hails represents for Philly, DC and Charlotte, NC with a varied repertoire of lyrics and vocals from original pieces to covers her throaty raspy-vioced rhythmic delivery adds a little something extra to the World Force sound.
World Force performs mostly original tunes, but have also molded classics from Bob Marley, Steel Pulse and Bill Withers into their own style. Crowds are virtually mesmerized by their more poignant ballads and forced to their feet on the dance tunes. World Force is fast becoming a reggae favorite in the Ohio Valley areas's festivals and clubs.
World Force Reggae band is not just a muic group. They are a cultural movement promoting the Rastafarian values of one love, peace, unity, community and action. Give Thanks and Praises to the Most High jah Rastafari!
