Windfall is Jennifer Catucci, Jeff Terranova, Jon Biviano, Chris Wallin, and Rob McDonough. The band
originated in Putnam County NY in 1996. After going through a few different line ups, they finally
settled upon one in 1998. Now, the band members span from such areas as NY, NJ, and CT and they consider
the tri-state area to be their home.
Jennifer Catucci’s unique blend of strong sultry singing, coupled with genuine and passionate lyrics hits
you deep within. Catchy vocal lines textured over a melodic hardcore rock sound from two veteraned
guitarists and an extremely talented rhythm section, gives the band a sound comparable to nothing and
no one. Their non conforming and adrenaline driven edge is a breath of fresh air compared to all of the
testosterone fed, teen angst filled songs that we have been forced to stomach over the past too many
years.
Windfall released their first cd/ep entitled “Awaken” back in July of 1999 on Smorgasbord Records. As
most bands, they spent a good year promoting the cd/ep, playing out constantly and getting their music and
name out there. The band quickly established the reputation of having a hard hitting, un-touchable
powerhouse live show. While the band’s fan base continued to grow, so did the bond between the band
members. The song writing and arranging of new material came almost too naturally and the band found
themselves with a ton of new songs that they wanted to debut in their live shows.
In August of 2000 the band found themselves back in the studio and recording for their 9 song full length
follow up to “Awaken”. That cd is called “Loud with the windows open so the neighbors can hear” and is
also available on Smorgasbord Records.
Windfall continue to break new ground with their unique style of “hardcore/rock” and continue to
fight for recognition within the underground hardcore and indie rock scenes. With a European tour
and countless live shows in the US under their belt, Windfall are making their mark and bringing
passion, originality, and sincerity back into the music scene.
For now, it is safe to say that Windfall are the underground music scene’s best kept secret. The
band is definitively a force to be reckoned with and is destined to take the music world by storm.
