Voodoo Moose is an acoustic jam quarter from St. Louis Missouri. Blending jazz, funk, jam, psychedlic fusion, and bluegrass into a unique intertwining of virtuostic improvisation, the Moose uses simply acoustic guitar, mandolin, double bass, and percussion to achieve highly stimulating results.
Having formed in the Spring of 1998, the Steve P. and Matt initially got together with Steve S. simply to play some standards and Dead tunes. However, after the first day of jamming, a connection was formed that would grow at an unbelievable rate.
Far from named, VM proceeded to play, write, and gig everyday there after, developing a fanbase that began with friends and colleagues, and grew in a short period of time to standing-room only crowds. It was at one of these gigs that Chip was attending. Wisely having his drums handy, Chip sat in on a jam that had one local music professor stunned. Thereafter, the 4 were known as Voodoo Moose, and are drawing in new fans everyday.
