Organized in the spring of 2003, Phoenix's Varitones have already turned up the heat in the polka field with their distinctive, lively polka beat. The group is composed of seasoned musicians who are talented and have been associated with the Polka music style for many years.
'Nickelcity' Dave Bonczkiewicz, from Buffalo, NY, is the leader, trumpet player and vocalist. Dave takes great pride in the quality and variety of musical entertainment offered by the group. His vocal style and enthusiasm he displays over the microphone adds certain lightness to Polka music. Ron Brzoska, also originally from Buffalo, is on accordion and midi bass.Ron's musicianship on the accordion has been a delight to the fans wherever he performs. Lou Pavlik, hales from Cleveland Ohio, performed with the likes of Yankovic, Pecon and the fabulous Stan Blout, capably supplies the drum beat so necessary for the group's lively style. George Tissen, also from Cleveland Ohio rounds out the sound on his accordion, playing melody, counter melody, fill-ins or shaking the bellows.
It is a great pleasure and a privilege to present to the polka fans the talent of the Varitones from Phoenix, AZ.
