Undercarriage started about three years ago, the founding members played at the same school. They quickly became the 'school heroes' playing all the time to enthusiastic students. There first real live experience was in a national competition called the smokefree rock quest. The band quickly realised that they had potential when they won the best song award. things grew very well from there.

once leaving school, the band recruited Ben Watson as there new bassist, from there the band could finally start to knuckle down and not worry about the stresses of school life. Soon after some very strongly written songs started to arise from the practice room and the band prepared to start gigging and playing live.

With their sound now well polished the band starts to build a strong fan base around the city of Auckland. The hard edged yet melodic sound of the band quickly attracted a broad spectrum of listners.

Undercarriage can never say that they are defined to any one style because they are always changing, the songs are always very well structured and very energy drivin. The band can play a beautiful soulful ballad while still keeping you wide awake with the power and energy of the song. While at the same time, they can play a song so rocking and powerful that people have been compelled to jump from their seats and mosh by themselves!
