Ubiquitone is a six-piece band out of Washington, DC that continues to refine their original brand of jam-laced rock first debuted four years ago. At times anthemic and powerful, other times haunting and hypnotic, ubiquitone is steeped in roots rock, bluegrass, and alt.country, creating what’s been described as “intense Americana.”
Their sound is built around the songwriting talents of multi-instrumentalist/ vocalist Brett Naylor, who, along with Brice Bartley (guitar) and Fred Miller (keys), comprise ubiquitone’s front line. Add the rolling pulse of Rob Carbonello (bass), Andrew Wright (drums), and Rob Wickham (percussion), and ubiquitone’s collective chemistry is capable of sending shockwaves through an audience.
Initially forming to perform a one-off performance at a weekend festival late in 2000, Ubiquitone soon caught the attention of a few promoters who began championing the band. They’re now a familiar act on the festival circuit and perform throughout the mid-Atlantic region.
Ubiquitone’s debut studio CD, The Essex Shuck (released 2002), captures the band in their twin-songwriter period prior to the departure of co-founder Eric Starr. A live release of their 2003 performance at the Mid-Atlantic Music Experience is in the works, as are plans for a follow-up to The Essex Shuck.
