Travis Brant is a singer \ songwriter from Indianapolis, Indiana. Originally a drummer and percussionist, Travis is currently pursuing his solo career. The shows range fromacoustic coffeehouses to full electric venues such as bars and festivals. The music extends from modern rock all the way to improvised drum and percussion solos. In 1994, Travis became an Indiana artist affiliate for Hearing Education and Awareness for Rockers. 'H.E.A.R ', is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to the education of musicians and fans regarding repeatedexposure to high noise levels. Travis has spoken on HEAR's behalf during private workshops for musicians, handi-cap children and larger events like Lollapalooza
In 1997, Travis started Def Left Ear Productions as an outlet for his writing. Shortly after Travis produced and engineered a local benefit CD for H.E.A.R. and The Children's Wish Foundation. The compilation was almost all-original Christmas music, showcasing many different styles. ' Home For The Holidays ' received high reviews from all media while bringing exposure to groups that might not have opportunities to be heard In December of 1998, Travis and Def Left Ear produced \ engineered four Indiana bands for a TV special entitled ' A Rock'n Hoosier Holiday '. The half-hour special featured four Indiana bands performing in historical settings. In 1999, ' A Rock'n Hoosier Holiday ' wasnominated for a regional Emmy award in the category ofoutstanding entertainment special. Travis also performed on the show.
In 1999, Travis released his first full length CD ' Ride Ride The Sunrise ' on his own Def Left Ear record label. It was produced, engineered, mixed and mastered by Travis at 'DLE'. The CD has received national and local reviews and airplay.
In 2000, Travis released is sophomore CD, 'Fuzzy Biscuit'. It contains ten self produced \ engineered modern rock tracks. Travis also played drums, guitars, sang lead and backing vocals and played an odd assortment of 'instruments' ranging from hard drive platters to an ironing board. The CD has received national reviews and air-play.
