The Vinyl Sleeves
Band Biography

  • From: Morristown , TN
  • No. of Members: 3
  • Year Established: 2001

We are an East Tennessee band, that is actively seeking gigs and chances to perform. The Vinyl Sleeves are an eccentric mix of musicians that blend the sounds of jazz, pop, and rock to form a new breed of rock and roll harking back to the free spirit of the 60's rock and roll scene, mixed with some modern instincts. Moreover, we take another step by adding to this unique mix a lyrical atmosphere that hopefully interacts with the listener. We offer a sample of a few songs but are not limited to that sound we save our best for the live show, which is just something you have to see. We are currently booking for any date and would like to see all of you guys at our next show. If you have any inquiries about us or want more info about our band please email us at nanerpudding@hotmail.com

The Official History Of The Vinyl SleevesThe Vinyl Sleeves began as a collaboration of the two longest standing members of the band, Jonathan and T.J. After a three year period of preparation the first envision of The Vinyl Sleeves came to be known as The Gypsy Moths, but in the last few months it was found that another band had already recorded under that name and a new name was chosen and so The Vinyl Sleeves was born. Our history on an individual level takes on the form of the traveling musicians of the middle ages. William Jonathan Hayes was born on the coastal regions of Virginia in 1982. He began his love of guitar at an early age, because of the influence of his older brothers that were playing music also. He developed a keen interest in the classic, flamenco, and jazz guitar styles of playing and pursued those teachings until his total mastery of his craft. He eventually moved to the Morristown where he met the second member of the band T.J. Thomas Joseph Hopkins 'T.J.' was born in Franklin, North Carolina in 1982. He began his music interest at the age of 13 when he purchased his first Beatles album. He later began his playing career after his high school years and has been under the keen training of Jonathan ever since. Over the years his talent has grown to that of a well seasoned bass player with his own unique style of play and technique. It was in high school T.J. met the final member of the band Christopher. Christopher Jordan Livesay was born in Knoxville Tennessee in 1984. His musical career began during his middle school years when he joined the school band working in the percussion section. He continued his pursuit of taming the drums all through high school until his good friend T.J. asked him to pick up his sticks and play for a band he was in. This is an abridged version of the complete history we will post the full history at a later date. So keep checking back!!!!
