The Sub-Urban Situation is a group of three performers who have a love of all types of music, and you can hear it in their music. With hints of r&b, soul, hip-hop, folk, blues, and jazz, The Sub-Urban Situation will keep you guessing what kind of song will be played next, while not jeopardizing the sound and quality of the music.
The group consist of three Southern Indiana and Louisville natives. Wes Neidiffer handles the role of lead singer and piano player of the group. This twenty-seven year old Indiana native has been singing in church and school choirs since the day he was old enough to talk. With a smooth, r&b voice, Wes sets crowds off into a world of amazement when he first opens his mouth to sing. The next member of The Sub-Urban Situation is Guitarist and back-up vocalist Greg Tripure. Tripure, a twenty-five year old veteran to the Louisville music scene, has experienced a steady career in the music business. Performing as a solo artist, Tripure has received airplay in the Midwest United States and Europe (England and France) and has performed at Paris’s Café Universal in 2001. The youngest member of the group, but definitely not least talented is a twenty-one year old guitarist named Patrick Wolfe. This Louisville native just happened to meet both Wes and Greg at a local recording studio one day and after talking with them for five minutes, added a guitar track to what is now known a song called “Playa.” Wolfe brings the jazz and blues style of guitar top The Sub-Urban Situation. His talented playing has people watching and listening to every song in a The Sub-Urban Situation concert.
The Sub-Urban Situation as a group has only existed for a little more than one year, but their efforts have been landing them continuous spots at some of Louisville’s top clubs and performing spots with some of Louisville’s most well respected groups of musicians. The Sub-Urban Situation is not only a fan of their own music, but has a genuine love for all forms and genres of music.
