The name of the band - The Sky - was inspired by my propensity to gaze upward and enjoy the ever changing and dramatic visual show that goes on around and above us every day. The Sky includes a core of three founding members who play guitar, bass, drums, keys and whatever happens to by lying around in the room at the time. We compose and record music that we enjoy and get into. In the process, our audience digs what they hear, which is cool too.
David Sawicki plays guitar and composes most of the songs and sings most of the time. Andy Singer plays bass, contributes to song composition and sings. Mike Cassara plays drums like Keith Moon.
In 1997 we recorded our first and only CD to date, titled 'Distance'. The album was recorded by Vic Steffens of Horizon Studios, CT. Vic was a session drummer in the 70's-80's and has appeared with major acts included the Rolling Stones.
We are in the process of developing new songs for our second album.
