Mid-summer, 2004: the first Red Motor Symphony practice takes place in Bill's basement. Shaking dust and asbestos from the rafters and rattling mason jars on the workbench, the 4-piece quickly comes together to create Goin My Way, the staple-song and embodiment of the Red Motor Symphony. Shortly after, jam sessions were relocated to Andrews basement, which proved a more suitable environment. After acquiring a 7-song repertoire the band left the basement and played their first ever show at the Empress Ballroom, Danbury, CT. It was a mild success but the RMS had had a taste of the scene and proceeded to play gigs at the Webster Underground (Hartford, CT), Toads Place (New Haven, CT), and the Webster main stage (Hartford, CT), along with several private parties and assorted fundraisers. With several upcoming shows this spring and summer, it appears they will stop at nothing to clean up the CT music scene and beyond.
