The Quahogs were founded in 2004 in New Haven, CT. They basically exploded onto the scene, with a sloppy and yet nuanced style. Because they were all guitarists primarily, and all were writing songs, they decided to mix it up, taking turns on the various instruments. The result has been praised as a fun, democratic kind of band which celebrates New Haven, the examined life, and rock and roll.
