The instrumental dirt rock of The Pygmies first started in 2000 after a drunken night of Rock'n'Roll philosophy @ a local bar. Based in Spartanburg S.C., The Pygmies began as a three piece & thru the course of their existence have been thru more drummers than Spinal Tap, front men (If you can even call them that) & various sounds. In early 2003, the band decided to add an additional guitarist instead of a singer. Due to their diverse sound ranging from surf punk to Iggy & The Stooges to 70s arena cock rock, the band has been able to share a stage w/ a variety of regional & national musicians such as Dick Dale, Superjoint Ritual, CKY, Antiseen, Alabama Thunderpussy & more.
