The members of New Orleans Rhythm & Blues Company played together for over 10 years accompanying the best acts in the city of New Orleans. Frankie Ford, Jean Knight, The Coasters, The Drifters and Oliver Morgan are just a few of the stars they worked with. In 1998 they came into their own after writing and recording the hit song, 'That's The Mardi Gras!' The group was featured on local television and radio stations during Mardi Gras 1999 and received rave reviews. Now they are a fixture on the local scene, regularly performing at various venues throughout Southeast Louisiana. They were recently chosen to perform at the opening of the New Orleans Saints training camp in Thibodaux, LA and performed at the first home game of the 2000 season. The group was seen by millions during Mardi Gras 2000 leading the parade on the first float as the Grand Marshall's band in the Argus parade. They have appeared at the Back To The Beach festival, Ruby's Roadhouse in Mandeville, LA, WWL-TV's Eyewitness Morning News and as the featured weekend band at Harrah's Casino in New Orleans. They were featured at the Downtown Development District's After Work Concert Series, the Sunday Sunset Concert Series sponsored by Shore 104.7, the Madisonville Wooden Boat Festival and the Mobile Bayfest 2000 opening for Travis Tritt. New Orleans Rhythm & Blues Company recently released their first CD entitled 'Identity Crisis'. It is available at local record stores and the band's web site. The first cut from the CD, 'Get Down To It', was chosen as a semi-finalist in the Born On The Web song contest, competing for $25,000. Another track, 'Wake Up', was selected by Riffage.com for use on their promotional CD to be distributed with the October 2000 issue of Spin magazine. New Orleans Rhythm & Blues Company's unique sound and ability to excite any crowd will certainly ensure the success of any party or event. Michelle Ploue was the lead vocalist for Jubilation! from 1988 to 1999. A former Miss LSU, she was featured on the Lakeside Shopping Center commercial and recently appeared with Rockin Dopsie on his new CD. Brad Burris is the musical director for the group and is proficient on Bass Guitar, Trumpet, Piano, and Guitar. He has a Master of Music degree and has performed with such musical legends as Jerry Lee Lewis, Chuck Berry and Fats Domino. Mike Vila is a phenomenal guitarist with a Bachelor of Music in Jazz Studies from Loyola University. Malcolm Lanius is a talented pianist who has worked with such names as Marvin Hamlisch, Pete Fountain, and Irma Thomas. Joe Vicari is a dynamic drummer with years of experience playing with Jubilation, The Coasters and The Drifters.
