The Lucky’s performances are compelling, warm and energetic, and their music has left its mark on thousands of mesmerized festival-goers across Europe and the UK.The voice is unique; the harmonies are exquisite; the musicianship is outstanding. This band aims to bring true rock and roll back to live music!
The Lucky are Richard Evans (Vocals, Rhythm Guitar), Tim Marsden (Vocals, Lead Guitar,), Siân Owen (Vocals, Keyboards), Iain Harris (Bass Guitar), and Henry Gwynne (Drums). All members were drawn to the glitz and glamour of the capital, where they came together in May 2004 to form the Mariachis, later to rename as The Lucky. Using their unique talent and skill to create highly catchy and memorable tunes, this band is on the path to success! Richard, fresh from living in California and Japan, hooked up with Tim and Henry, who had previously played music together at school. They were soon joined by Iain, who had recently spent some time in New York, and finally Siân, formerly one of the vocalists with London-based band, Loudermilk.
The Lucky (as 'The Mariachis') recently recorded their first EP, ‘Kicking Through The Cinders’, released on June 27th. 'Condolences', included on the EP, features on the forthcoming album ‘Independent - the Best of Matchbox Recordings’, released through Universal Distribution. In late August the band also recorded two tracks for subsequent release with internationally acclaimed producer Greg Haver at Stir Studios in Cardiff.
