The Lockdown
Band Biography

  • From: Duluth, MN
  • No. of Members: 3
  • Year Established: 2004

Andy Pletcher - vocals and guitarDitch - lame nicknames, bass, and vocalsKyle Shearer - Drums, Percussion, Beanie caps, and Marb 27'sBuzzing guitars, terrorizing bass lines, and faster than light drums, are just a few descriptions of the band, THE LOCKDOWN. Formed originally in early 2004, as Ace High, the members knew they wanted to take the band serious. Original members included, Josh Woodard (guitar and vocals), Joe Dunbar (Drums and vocals), Dusty “Ditch” Dzuck (Bass and Vocals) and Andy “Pletch” Pletcher (Lead Guitar and Vocals). After a few months of playing together, things were looking good for Ace High, but with conflicting work schedules and what not, the band found it hard to have a lot of time to rehearse. Throughout the summer of 2004, tensions were present between numerous members of the band. Joe Dunbar was the first to leave the band. He wanted to pursue other things in life. The band is still on good terms with him. Replacing Joe, was Kyle “Shithead” Shearer. It was evident from the first practice with Kyle, that things were going to be just fine. Then came a cold, late night, in the city of Duluth. Andy, Dusty, and Josh decided to vandalize campaign signs in the east side of town. (The fucker had it coming) After turning themselves in less than a week later, it was clear that the relationships in the band and to be tight. But unfortunately, this was not the case. Tensions, once again surfaced, and took another member. This time, Josh Woodard was the victim. He had had enough. He left the band to pursue his side project, Best Friends For Never (How ironic?!). Fortunately, the band still makes an effort to stay in contact with Josh. With two original members gone, Dusty and Andy decided a name change was needed. This wasn’t Ace High anymore. One day, walking down the “darkened” corridors of the penitentiary titled “Denfeld High School”, they noticed a room labeled “The Lockdown Room”. This room is used for students and teachers to hide out in if the school was ever in danger. Taking this opportunity to place their “only in America” attitude, Andy and Dusty felt this room had a nice ring to it. They chose, The Lockdown, as the new band name. The band has played one show with the new lineup, and needless to say, the future is looking good for The Lockdown. Only time will tell. RHYTHM GUITARIST NEEDED » www.lockdown.cjb.net
