The Kut are an all girl femme fatale alternative band based in London. Signed to Criminal Records the band already have a hefty set of gigs & a best selling single behind them.
Fronted by Maha [vocals, lead guitar] , the project is clearly aiming to take music to a new level.... Formed in August 2002, the band quickly expanded their repetoire of rock and indie to include various styles with heavy bass [Elvira] and experimental drums [Nuria] and the newest addition of keys [Kiki].
The latest EP release 'Poisonest' [Catalogue No. CRIM1000CD] represents a mix of their alternative edge & catchy tracks like 'Work's Shit' and 'Don't Want You' that is also featured on Criminal Records 19 band compilation 'The Criminal Sessions' [more info @ www.criminalrecords.cc]- 'Girl power is so passe. The Vision single review, Guitar Magazine: [February 2004] '......Singing sultress Maha has a sly Danielle Dax type of voice that suits the eastern minor keys of The Vision a treat, and if she wasn't bouncing catawauling cacophony off the wall from her guitar, we daresay there'd be some vampy hand movements, too. Picture this slinking over Elvira's hypnotic bass and Nuria's dubby-industrial drumbeats and you've got yourself one bewitching number. Maha's a dab hand at programming and there's some very capable guitar shredding too.'
