The Habs are a young, four piece band emerging on the Detroit music scene. Their sound is a unique blend of pop and punk that is energetic enough to get the crowd moving yet melodic enough to them singing along. The powerful drumbeats, crunch rhythems, dulcet riffs, and jumpy bass lines has helped the band establish a strong local fan base as they play shows and sell their three song demo CD. The band is currently hard at work, playing as many shows as they can in the Detroit area.
Nick Marko, John Dobry, and Frank Muscat co-founded the Habs in 1995, and with the recent addition of drummer Rob Mackenzie, the band is complete. Nick, the singer/songwriter and rhythn guitarist, was originally the drummer, while Frank has always played the bass and John the lead guitar.
The Habs three song CD, entitlied Haven't missed a step was recorded at Butter Studios is Detroit and mixed at Wood Shed Studios is Oak Park. It embodies the Habs potential, but their is no limit to their musical repertoire. The band currently plays over a dozen originals that they hope to record this coming winter.
All in all, the Habs are a group of blue-collar musicians working their asses off to establish a legtimate fan base that can last.
