The Fuse are 'The Fuse' because they are a true
fusion of musical styles. ' I like to call it
Psycho-Fusion', says Kevin Campbell, the group's
lead mouthpiece and guitarist.
Campbell's musical influences include Hendrix, Zappa, Al Dimeola, and David Gilmour on the guitar end of the spectrum. ' All the guys that have influenced my guitar playing, aren't the same people that influence my lyrics and songwriting,' says Campbell. ' On that side I'm
heavily influenced by groups like The Police,U2, Pearl Jam, The Chili's, as well as people like
Peter Gabriel,Sting, and Roger Waters.'
John Dempsey's route to stellar bass playing began with the traditional diet of Black Sabbath and Rush tunes. He quickly found out that 'few chord rock' wasn't big enough for him. He blew
right through all the metal crap and went right for the jugular. John's playing was more attuned to the likes of Stuart Hamm, Jeff Berlin, Victor Wooten and of course Flea. John currently plays a 6 string Alembic bass guitar, which adds an incredible amount of depth and versatility to the overall sound of the band.
Reggie 'Lefty' Gamble plays the drums with the fire of Billy Cobham and Tony Williams, only he
won't admit it. This lefty drummer from Paterson
was weaned on a steady diet of gospel while playing drums in his church as a young boy. His musical influences range from absolutely anyone to everyone, and Reggie has played with a whole slew of those people. Plain and simple, he makes a song happen. He's got impeccable taste.
