The Fucking Buckaroos (based in San Francisco, CA), came to be in the fall of 2004 when four musicians with a common distaste for modern effects-ridden music began working hard to cause a raucous with the traditional acoustic instruments used in folk music that easily rivals, and often times transcends, the energy and attitude of punk rock. The difference between the Fucking Buckaroos and other modern day folk-esque groups (like the punk rock Flogging Molly or the entire alternative country scene) is that when the other bands turn to blasting distortion behind a fiddle or slowly picking a banjo over electronic samples to achieve power, the Buckaroos do it the old-fashioned way by channeling what's inside their bodies or their bottles.
