From its inception in 1995, The Crawdaddies have sparked and cultivated a reputation for having a sound that is all their own. Highlighting the varied musical backgrounds of its members, The Crawdaddies combine the infectious pulse and energy of classic Cajun/Zydeco rhythms with cool Swing grooves, Country, Rock and Soul. Their rambunctious yet inviting style is well represented in 10 original songs featured on 'Accordions Are Cool', the first Compact Disc from the band.
Lead vocal and bass duties are held down by Jay Corey whose playing has been honed over 15 years of touring and performing with groups of every style. Corey's barrel house vocal delivery and deep groove is complimented by a keen ability to push an audience to the next level.
The Accordion virtuosity (yes, accordion) of Kraig Greff provides the hard-hitting foundation of The Crawdaddies' sound. Also an accomplished session pianist, Greff brings with him the experience of years of international touring. His keyboard talents have backed such greats as jazz legend Joe Williams, Della Reese, Diana Ross and Barry White.
The unique musical blending of The Crawdaddies is furthered by the muscular guitar work and vocals of Chris Huntington. A road veteran since age 16, Huntington draws from a diverse bag of styles. From finessed finger picking to flat out sonic soloing Huntington is a guitar standout. He also books the band.
