The Bone Fags
Band Biography

  • From: Indianapolis, IN
  • No. of Members: 3
  • Year Established: 2006

The Bone Fags were formed before they even knew it. They started the band as a stupid joke and booked a show before they even played a note. They didn't have a band but they were good to go and didn't have drums until the day before the show. The only solid thing that they actually had couldn't be contained within a gig bag. A lot of people argue and they say it's real bad but they all agree the greatest band name in the world is... THE BONE FAGS!

(REVIEW)The Bone Fags Failby Jessica IrvinI walked into The Ugly Monkey Saturday night expecting to experience a refreshing slap in the face punk show. What I found, however, was a raucous, over-the-top exposee of what a live show could be.The bar was deserted. Everyone in the room was someone I have known for years. It was the most intimate setting possible for the appearance of The Bone Fags and B!TCH Real Sick. Standing in a room with no more than 25 people, The Bone Fags are flailing wildly on stage.I walk to the front bar where I received a watered-down whiskey sour. I am busy listening to the other patrons at The Ugly Monkey Saturday night January 12, 2008. The front bar is absolutely packed. There are eager Colts fans all around me, and suddenly I hear a guy in a Peyton Manning jersey say, 'Man, the band in the back absolutely sucks.' I burst out laughing.Returning to the back bar, I am greeted by an eclectic, energized crowd. The Bone Fags have a true style of their own. Chris Brake, Robert Brown and John Rapp exude confidence and energy. In the midst of 'The Sky is on Fire', a mosh pit is started by three female fans. The rest of the crowd is a little startled by this and back up. What is this? I just can't stop listening to this song. Brake, Brown and Rapp's raucous energy invigorates and appall the audience simultaneously. The set jumpstarts with a back-to-basics 'Punx Snot Dead' then violently collides with a chaotic rendition of 'Hunter S Thompson Ate My Soul.' The still sparse crowd clicks with half disgust and half interest. It is obvious that above all things, this show is about hardcore fun, audience participation and expansion of the truth. The Bone Fags embody what it is to play a live show in Indianapolis, Indiana and fail. The sparse crowd is really full of the bands closest friends – and who better to explore the boundaries of sound with. During 'The Sky is on Fire' a mosh pit breaks out – finally creating as much chaos in the crowd as is formulating on the stage. Christopher Brake holds his mic to the symbol as John Rapp loses his mind behind the drums.A strange, ghastly, intriguing sound fills the air as the three women who started the in-crowd revolution attempt to engulf more and more bodies into the pandemonium. The women at the show are apparently more in tune with what The Bone Fags are creating than the men. The men are standing …watching…not participating. In their final hurrah The Bone Fags cover a long forgotten children's cartoon. As we all begin to realize what's going on the rush of voices comes hot and whiskey ridden into the room: Killer Tofu reigns as The Bone Fags' final song. The Bone Fags are high energy free flowing punk rock. Their lyrics are memorable and disturbing: 'We are the band that pees ourselves/We are the band with no eye brows/We are the band that you can't stand/We are the band that has no fans.'

The Bone Fags is a good old fashioned 'we don't give a weeble wabble woozit whutzit' [genre] band.We want you and everyone you know to do what you do.If you want this, come and get it! This is yours, every inch of it. We are for you just as much as you are for us.We have just recently changed our name for 'legal purposes.' It appears there was another band with the same chosen name as us. Us rocking their name harder than they were would definitely bring on some sort of legal action. In order to avoid this, we have become what we were and did not know. But now, we are bringing it to the front and shoving everyone else out of the way. We have now become THE BONE FAGS!We have just done a run around spin around jump around roundhouse kick to our faces and are now recreating everything we have ever known. This is it and so are we.-The Bone Fags

THE BONE FAG FAQ Due to the spreading of hate without us being given a chance to explain, we will state this fact with no explanation. We do not hate gay people. WE LOVE ALL PEOPLE!
