The Bob Ross Experience is an acoustic-driven rock and roll band based out of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, whose music has been described as a Southern Fleetwood Mac. The band first formed in the summer of '96, when Justin, Ryan, and Michael got together with a couple of friends to play solely for fun. Now, three years later, BRE has played many gigs and has a well-established fan base in the New Orleans and Baton Rouge area.
BRE has gone through several lineup changes since it's beginning. The current lineup has proven to be the right combination of influences and talent, with BRE’s originals being stronger and tighter than ever before. The Bob Ross Experience’s current lineup consists of:
Joel James-Vocals, Guitar
Ryan Brach-Bass
Justin Monjure-Guitar
Michelle Townsend-Vocals
Chad Braud-Drums
Michael Goodier-Guitar
The Bob Ross Experience is a very diverse band whose originals show the numerous influences of its members. Joel is big into southern rock…Michael is a Dave Matthews freak…Chad likes motown/funk…Justin is obsessed with the 80’s…Michelle likes any female singer…and Ryan is a melting pot of all styles. Even though BRE’s songs are written in different styles they come together in the strangest, most intriguing way to define what is an extremely original band.
'This band shows true talent, smooth vocals, and a tight rhythm section. This energetic, hot-steppin’ band is hotter than ever and we’re more than willing to jump on their bandwagon.'
-Jimmy Anselmo (Owner of Jimmy’s Music Club in New Orleans)
'With smoothly crafted pop songs reminiscent of Joe Cocker laced with deep fried New Orleans vocal styles, BRE is a fresh new catch from the Big Easy on the up and coming!!'
-Tony Lymon (Percussionist for King Konga)
'They (BRE) are definitely headed in the right direction'
-Craig Shields (Saxophonist/Organist for Edwin McCain Band)
'Leisure suits, orange afros, a 250-pound bumblebee, jumping up and down to the sounds and vibes of the 70's, 80's and 90's all packed into one musical taco: this is BRE -- 'experience' the celebration.'
-Mark Duplass (Independent Artist from Austin, TX)
