Straw Man formed in October of 2002. Friends Grayson, Miller and Devin decided to pool their efforts to create a sound that was their own. Since that time the three members have created well over 15 original songs while performing around the middle Tennessee area, as well as recording as much as possible.

Miller, Devin and Grayson were influenced heavily by the genres of blues, jazz, and rock, mixing and matching the three to create a unique sound while staying as close to the original roots as possible. The three band members were also influenced by a number of current bands, including Incubus, Sublime, 311, They Might Be Giants, and The Beatles.

Devin, Grayson and Miller have also created the personage of the Straw Man, apparent in songs like I Am The Straw Man and the work-in-progress Immarhul.The band recently added guitarist Allen Wylie into the group. Allen's fresh, new rhythm guitar smooths out and accentuates the current sound.

The band has performed at such venues as the Inferno bar, Gentleman Jim's, the M.U.S.E., Wall Street, The Warehouse, The End and more. Currently they are in the planning stages of a tour around the middle Tennessee area, to cities like Knoxville and Clarksville. This is the start an aggressive push to play as much as possible in effort to realize their dream: to make a living doing that which they love.
