Stereopath have been jamming it out on the North side of Sydney for around four years now. Though there have been a few alterations to the line-up, the band now consists of Dean on vocals, Mike on bass, Jose on guitar, and James on drums.

Dean (vocals)Dean uses his writing talent and knack for rhythmically layering lyrics to give Stereopath a unique voice. He finds inspiration for his lyrics from everything that surrounds him- experiences, distorted personalities, Martial Arts films- and of course Jerry Springer. James´ energy and passion are best illustrated when you hear him play drums. James is a unique drummer not only because of his sheer skill and versatility, but for the way he listens to Mike and Jose´s playing to lock into their melodic language, translating it into precussive sounds- enabling the band to connect together. Jose (guitar)uses his passion for early funk and soul to inject a rootsy, melodic sound to Stereopath. Mike (bass )is usually responsible for the groove of Stereopath´s songs. His musical talent and skill give the band a certain sense of professionalism. Drawing from his passion to music, Mike tranlates this energy to his bass-playing, lifting not only audiences but the band as well.

Influenced by early funk and soul, as well as hip-hop, Stereopath combine these styles to create a unique, fresh sound using their strong sense of rhythm as a driving force. This, combined with an energetic stage-presence and well-rehearsed sets is no wonder Stereopath always get a great response even from a tough audience.

Having played on events such as Manly youthfest, supported predominant alternative acts such as Spider Bait, MC Trey, On Inc., and The Porkers, Stereopath know what it is like to perform at events of high stakes. Stereopath have also made their mark by appearing on a Nothern-Beaches bands compilation “Nothern Compsure” (appearing under their previous name “Sodasm”). Stereopath is now currently gigging around various Sydney suburbs, constantly exposing their fresh sound to new audiences who find themselves bopping, dancing and trancing to the irrestible Stereopath groove- before they even know it.
