Stephen Hill has been writing and performing his songs since 2003, starting off with Dublin city open mic nights in The International Bar and Slattery's. Influenced by the acoustic nature of these nights (which was a training ground for Damien Rice, Damien Dempsey, Paddy Casey and many others) and by his own love of artists Nick Cave, Steve Earle and others he has a style all his own. In 2006 he released his debut album 'public transport'.
When not playing solo Stephen has been joined by an eclectic mix of musicians in his part-time band 'The Special Forces'. With Jeremy Kehoe on drums, Anthony Gibney on guitar, Phil Daly or Derek Clabby on bass, (depending on all sorts of factors), Aidan on Clarinet (when possible) and many other guests from time to time it is often a predictable but always entertaining affair.
