Statik UK was born on New Year's Eve, 1997 at JR's Lightbulb club in Fayetteville, Ar. Since that time they have gone through a few bass playing changes, and a slight name change (to avoid copyright infringement) but basically remained intact. The band is Allen Tauber on vox, John Harrison on guitar, Jay Hollingshead on drums, and Mark Obana on bass. From the start, they quickly gained a rep as one of the best live shows in the area. Their first single 'kramer' has become the most requested song on 104.9 the X, a nationally reporting station and kroq affiliate. Recording has always been a priority for the band, even to the point of tracking songs in the studio with no money to pay for it. When the band lineup finally solidified, all energy was put into recording and production of their debut cd 'dime store murders'.
