  • Year Established: 1993

A bouncy & meaty brand of midwestern guitar-rock, with influences as diverse as the BEATLES, Cheap Trick, Gary Moore, Dr. Suess and THIN LIZZY. As well as their own songs off their debut disc. Some highlights of an evening with Spatterdash are reworked classics such as TEMPTED by Squeeze, CULT OF PERSONALITY by Living Colour, the FAT ALBERT THEME SONG.

Spatterdash currently seek any form of label support to help in the distribution , financing and publicizing of their recording efforts. Primarily a guitar driven rock band spatterdash's songwriting encompasses elements of funk, ballads, and alcohol fueled chikanery. They have released one(1)CD.And one currently being finished in the studio. They have played across the Midwest in such exotic locales as Dubuque, Iowa City,East Dubuque(*yipes!*), Rock Falls, Muscatine, Fruitland, Dixon, Seatle Superdome w\Motley Crue (the crappy version), Davenport and Moline.

1.Chemical Smile ...'Here I am grin'n all the while/I can't erase my chemical smile/ this joker's grin, this cheshire mug/ brought to you by prescription drug...' ...the inspiration for this would be the woman who dances with her walkman, all day and night along Locust and Washington Streets in Davenport, Roto drum solo in the middle by Chris! Additional comments:last song we wrote for the album. The best was in Iowa City, when Leo said her name over the P.A. and the sound guy yelled out 'HEY! THAT'S MY AUNT!!!' _________ 2. (Doin' Time On) Planet Earth - Leo, 'This song started when I was bummed out in the winter, fighting with my girlfriend, eating cheeto's and watching t.v... .all that was on was WHEEL OF FORTUNE.... anyhow it was scribbled on the back of the lyrics for 'Don't Wake Me Up'... We put those two songs together one afternoon at Chris's house, he had been working third shift and I would come over and wake him up around 4:00 in the afternoon, we got a lot of songwriting done that way....but boy did his breath stink!...and he never sang until he had a pot of coffee in him...' Additional: 12 string gtr on this track...
