From the hard rocking pop of Flickers, to the dark frustration of Jesus Says, Son of Joe is set on taking the rock landscape of today, and remolding it into their own image. Formed in early 2001, Son of Joe began as an acoustic project of Garrett Loontjer (vocals, guitar) and Jeff Fletcher (guitars). After a few open mic and coffee shop shows around Austin, Texas, they began to feel a need for the harsher, all out feel of a full band. Garrett recruited the services of friend and fellow musician Daniel Bishop on bass, while Jeff completed the package by enlisting John Spence, a friend from his home town of Dallas, on drums. With influences ranging from Pearl Jam to Our Lady Peace, Son of Joe is seeking to renew the embrace of melodic tunes in today's rock scene. Frontman, Garrett Loontjer, describes the music as having a 'dark pop feel, that resonates with all who feel this world isn't quite for them.' With a live show renowned for its emotion and energy, many are beginning to take notice of Son of Joe.
