“Four members try to write their tunes, they stay inside on sunny days, a windowless and rotten place. Regardless if we make it, we’ll march a million miles” – Lyrics from “ The Show Must Go On” These are more than just lyrics, they are a defiant chant that guides Solomon Standing through the trials and tribulations of the music business. The philosophy is simple, to compose memorable songs, and reach as many people as possible. Not content to catch the next trend, the music has taken on a very eclectic flavor that bridges rock, folk, blues and pop into a unique, signature sound all it’s own. Years ago Kris Schulz met Todd and Jared Mumford, and the trio formed their first band while barely into high school. Over a decade later, and dozens of bands between them, they reunited after discovering the vocal and songwriting talents of Dustin Rilcof. Formed in late 2003, Solomon Standing amassed enough songs to perform a show in under a month. Soon after, realizing they were onto something, the band decided to forego the usual freshman route and instead, opted to record a full length album. They set up camp in Toy Room Studios with producer Jeff Pauze in early 2004, and began work on their debut, self-titled CD. The ten song release showcases a fresh, excited band that effortlessly moves between all out rockers and reflective, acoustic flavored gems. It’s a musical journey that transcends the usual monotony and repetitiousness most acts suffer from. With a lifetime worth of combined musical knowledge, a commitment to consistently delivering a riveting live show, and a brotherhood strong enough to pursue their dreams, the future of Solomon Standing looks bright.“The music yells, the music bleeds…”-Lyrics from “ The Show Must Go On “http://www.solomonstanding.com
