SeepeopleS
Band Biography

  • From: Boston, MA
  • No. of Members: 3
  • Year Established: 2000

Seepeoples (formerly Cosmic Dilemma) was formed in 1999. Dan, Will and Tim have been touring the Northeast from Philly to Maine for over two years headlining shows at the House of Blues (Boston), Harper's Ferry (Boston), Elbow Room (NYC) Stone Church (NH), Metronome (VT), and played the CMJ music showcase 2000 to name a few. Our philosophy is in close connection with our name; to simply go out and play original music(in spirit as well as content) and see people. Despite the popularity of Color Television, we still feel this is the best way to share ideas and entertain an audience as well as ourselves. translation? FUN!

Seepeoples, as described by one concert reviewer, is a 'sound machine.' The band consists of Will Bradford on guitars (with an onstage army of effx),vocals, keyboards, synths, acoustics, pedal steel and whatever else makes noise, Dan Ingenthron (graduate of Berklee) on Bass, acoustic guitars, keyboards, piano, upright bass, mandolin, and Tim Haney on drums and percussion and mandolin as well. Each show is quite different from another and no one is sure (not even the band) what they will bring to the stage on any given night. This progressive attitude and fearlessness of sound is combined with thoughtful and provocative lyrics and a knack for pop melodies. With an original song arsenal of over 40 songs and growing, the focus of the group is and always will be evolution and change.

This past year has been quite extreme for the band. Formerly Cosmic Dilemma, the band had two albums under their belts and were signed to an indie, Naked Ear Records. At the end of the 2000, the band lost two of its founding members and decided to wipe the slate clean, starting over as Seepeoples. Since then the band has kept touring the northeast and has been recording their debut album (third for Dan, Will, and Tim) as Seepeoples at Renessiance Studios in Boston. The album, due for release this summer, features Dana Colley (Morphine, Orchestra Morphine) on three of the nine tracks. The album, already clocking in around 70 minutes, promises to be the most ambitious step the band has ever taken.

Seepeoples has lessened their touring schedule for a few months until the album is finished, and will stay exclusively in the Northeast (NYC, New Jersey, New York, and all of New England). Some upcoming highlights to be noted, the band will play be playing Bumstock (Maine) and the Block Island Music Festival, but check the website (www.seepeoples.com) to see if the band is coming to your town, download tracks or for more summer festival info.
