Strange evolved from the popular group Coupe Deville which was started in October of 1997 when guitar player Chris Chamness, bass player Kevin Key and drummer Shawn Burnett started forming the soon to be Coupe Deville. The three started rehearsing and performing three piece. The bands first performance was at the Alabama State crawfish festival in Faunsdale, Alabama. There were over 15,000 people in attendance at this festival. Having the opportunity to play this festival is a great honor. Only the nations top bands get to play this event. Coupe Deville also headlined at the Foothills Festival in Jasper Alabama, and the Uptown Live Festival in Columbus, GA. They have opened up for some top name groups including Black Oak Arkansas, Vallejo, Atlanta Rhythm Section, Brother Cane and others. The band was forced to change the name of the act to STRANGE due to copyright purposes.
STRANGE puts on a high-energy stage show with their blues, rock, and alternative influences. Entertaining their audiences has been no problem for them. They always seem to keep the crowd pumped and on their feet throughout there show. STRANGE is currently working on their debut album scheduled to be out in summer of 2000.
