STATTUS has come full circle since its inception in 1975. Led by James 'Woodie' Wood,(2 time WAMMIE(Washington Area Music Asso.and recipient of the 2001 Bob Marley Lifetime Award for his contribution to Reggae music in the Metro area),one of the original members of STATTUS '75 has assembled some of the D.C. areas most diverse musician to pursue a concept that music without boundaries can be universally appealling. Accompanied by bassists Rob'Tone'Duncan(Sun Ra), percussionist Jose Brooks(Noel Pointer), keyboardist E.T. Muhammad(Spinners)and drummer Ozzie Adams creat a palette of sounds and rythmns for the powerful and sultry vocals of singer Karen Downie-Bettis(Chip Davis, Al Brown and cousin of The Wailers keyboardist Tyrone Downie) Forging the sounds for the new millenium STATTUS has come forward to bring to the world stage 'Music for your Mind'.
