Schoolmates Mike 'Rex' Sabina (guitars) and Larry Lancaster (drums) tested the rock scene waters in 1995 with their band Pup Tent. When things didn't work out, they went looking for new members. . . After witnessing the stage energy of D.D.C.'s Tim 'Chigger' Louie (bass) in New York City, it was then and there that they knew they needed him in the band. The three guys went on to audition a number of singers and guitar players, and just when they were about to give up hope. . . Larry remembered that a co-worker of his sang and played guitar. His name was Bryan Cordano (vocals, guitars) . . . And after just one audition, the boys knew that Bryan was their man, because not only did Bryan sing, but he also played a vicious lead guitar! ! ! . . . So September of 1997, Something Just was born! ! !
Shortly after the incarnation of Something Just, the boys began playing local bars doing cover songs from bands like: the Foo Fighters, Blink 182, Neil Young, and Weezer. . . But after months of writing their own songs, they decided it was time to take this band to the next level! ! !
In the summer of 1998, Something Just released a 4-song EP titled 'Time to Evaporate' with producer Gene Porfido, from Boulevard Studios in New Milford, New Jersey. . . The EP helped Something Just to many shows in the Metro area, an opening slot with Luscious Jackson, and a TV performance with a Time Warner Cable Network show to promote a benefit concert they were performing for the Gilda Radner Foundation.
Well it looks like Something Just is ready to take on the world. . . But is the world ready to take on Something Just ? ? ?.....To Be Continued....
