Roost formed in the spring of 2005. Though the history band is not that old, they have already gelled into crowd pleasing performers. The members have been able to consistantly morph renditions of their originally written songs to create new and innovative atmospheres for their listeners. This credits their rapidly growing fan-base in the Central Maine region.
Jeff (bass)- Recently making the change to a 6 string, Jeff plays the soulful low end of Roosts musical spectrum. His songs are 'from the gut,' containing heartfelt lyrics and meaningful progressions. Jeff's influences include the likes of Phil Lesh, Mike Gordon, and Eric Glockler. Paul (guitar) - Paul has an arsenal of tricks to call upon in his song writing. Blending his Jazz degree with contemporary styles and emotions, his ability to explore uknown territories is just one of the many traits that set him apart from other musicians. Bert (guitar)- Joining in the effort to seek new and unexplored musical territories, Bert offers his take on electric and acoustic guitar. His songs flow on numerous levels with an intricate labyrinth of lyrics and meaningful guitar harmonies. Aaron (drums)- Aaron lays down exploratory rhythms with lock tight percision. Aaron's influences stem from both the Punk and Alternative genre's, lending their styles to his explosive tendancies and the ability to maintain atmospheric energy.
Roost's first year together has set the stage for many more interesting things to come. The band has recently moved into a house together with hopes of increasing practice time. They have also been working on recordings that will soon be distributed among the masses.
