Risingson are a 5-piece band playing music which is best described as guitar music with dancey keyboards, hip-hop beats, funky bass and decks.
The band until the turn of the year were a four piece under the name Coffee. They had built up a good reputation and strong local following over the two years they gigged. In Jan '99 the band recruited Donna Maciocia for Keyboards as they felt they lacked the edge they desired.
The addition of keyboards proved itself worthy, the band now sounded more mature and now had the full sound they were after.
At this point the band booked into Chamber Recording Studios in Edinburgh and recorded their debut CD 'Subway Wall EP'.
This received rave reviews from local press and enabled the band to break out of their home town and head for the bigger cities.
Now the band - under the name Risingson - play regularly throughout Scotland. Edinburgh, Glasgow and Aberdeen being the three main cities.
The band have now found their own style of music which they want to build on and sound almost nothing like they do on the Subway Wall EP, in fact they have only recently added a decks player to the sound as well for those irresistible scratches!!
