Randy Burk and the Prisoners was formed in January 2002. Consisting of its five members, within months has expanded itself musically and geographically. With a driving roots rock sound, similar to early Sun Records material, Randy Burk and the Prisoners is a high energy band with a lot of variation to offer.
Fronting the band is Randy Burk on lead vocals and acoustic guitar, Jared Hall on piano, accordian, and vocal harmonies, Bill Melton playing mandolin, fiddle, harmonica, guitar, and banjo, Nate Runkle on the acoustic and electric bass, and Matt Fisher on drums.
Randy Burk and the Prisoners can work well as a show band for official concerts and festivals, colleges, bars/clubs, receptions, and many other various situations. They work hard at their original music day to day.
With members who have experience playing in Nashville, TN and representatives of the Iowa Arts Council, this band is very professional and skilled at high levels. The Prisoners definately recreate a vintage sound that many are seeking today!
