Purple Void began as a solo project when guitarist/vocalist Dr Ungefehr (UK) got sick of playing in bands. He began to experiment with a direction previously embarked upon by such greats as Frank Zappa, Beefheart, Pink Floyd and so on, namely that of NOT playing for the audience, but for the entity of the music itself.This period ,where the Doc played all instruments in his home studio, resulted in the 2 albums Thru' the Wormhole (witha guest appearance by BAL on Trumpet) and Within the Nebula of Time, both of which are available via CDBaby.com ....then, after 3 years of working on the material it was time to put together a Live band to play the stuff !

The backbone of the Purple Void sound is supplied by Martin van Z (NL) on Drums and Wild Will (NL) on Bass. Both of these musicians had played earlier with Dr Ungefehr and so knew the trip would be odd. They were ready for it !Then along on Percussion and Tooters and Bells is Yuna (NL) who has a passion for music and is forever in search of 'perfect punctuation' and last but not least on Rythm Guitar is Tal(USA) , perhaps the worlds number one FZ fan !

As 2005 gets underway the band are in the studios in Holland (Amsterdam has a special vibe for this kind of musical creativity) working on a new album and a Live set which will be performed in a few months time.

The music is like a 6 headed monster growing in all directions.......
