Playin' Dead is a six piece band out of Boston playing all Grateful Dead music. Our goal is to provide the closest experience to an actual Grateful Dead concert in a smaller intimate setting.

Playing Dead is Jim Harris on rhythm guitar and vocals (Jim has played with Dark Star Orchestra), Vic DeRobertis on lead guitar and vocals (Vic has played with UJB and Laughing Water), Scott Kenton on bass, Matt Deveney (Laughing Water and Colonel Mustard) on keyboards, Tony Ryon on drums and Brian Epstein on drums.

Formerly playing as Electric Hummus, Playin' Dead changed the name in February of 2005 in an effort to establish changes in the lineup which occurred a year earlier, and to make it clearer the kind of music we play. With new management and more frequent gigs, we hope to build a good following in New England.
