Band Biography
- From: Seattle, WA
- No. of Members: 4
- Year Established: 1991
|
|
Born in Northwest Washington, U.S.A., Phreeworld plays a composition-oriented
progressive rock that is a combination of beautiful melodic harmonies, subtly complex
song writing and brilliant playing.
Press reviews:
This is progrock at its finest… '
phat-progrock, heavyweight progression'
Musik mit Leidenschaft und
Zusammengehörigkeitsgefühl, absolut
harmonisch. Viel Spaß. (H.H.) Translation -
Music with passion and a sense of unity,
absolutely harmonic 'These guys would kick
ass at any of the prog festivals'. 'Phreeworld,
they are superior at what they are doing'.
'Phree yourselves with this'. 'Highly
Recommended!!!' You'll notice that all four
musicians are credited with vocals and
indeed a Phreeworld trademark is the
gorgeous vocal harmonies. The vocals in
parts made me think of FM, Druid, and Noel
McCalla on Mike Rutherford's Smallcreeps
Day. Lots of acoustic guitar, soaring
keyboards, and Hackett-like electric guitar
melodies make this a tasty treat for fans of
70's Genesis, Yes, and Happy The Man.
These are the obvious comparisons but
Phreeworld is no retro band. How can great
songs be retro! YOU CAN READ THE
