Phileo was loosely formed in the summer of 1999 as a group of friends grooving in a few local coffee shops. By February of 2000, interest had grown in the group so much, that fans, producers and investors alike wanted to know when the first album would be released. By August of that same year, Phileo had cut their debut CD, 'The Healing Pool.' Receiving enthusiastic reviews from fans and industry professionals, Phileo is quickly becoming a favorite of listeners in the Midwest and East Coast!
Phileo currently consists of Angie Tucker on lead vocals, Andrew Lusk on keyboards, percussion and backing vocals, Michael Elsner on guitar on backing vocals, and newest member, Danny Raube on drums, percussion and backing vocals. Individually, the members of Phileo bring raw talent, previous musical training, experience and professionalism into the mix that forms Phileo's unique rock/alterna-pop sound.
Based out of Nashville, Phileo is developing a steady following in their region by playing in several local venues and being heard on 89.1 FM's (WNAZ) Z-Rock radio show, heard Monday through Friday from 9-11pm. Covering a wide portion of the central Tennessee area with WNAZ's four affiliate stations, Phileo's base of listeners continues to grow daily. Most recently, Phileo was added to the national network of stations on the Effect Radio Network and can now be heard from Hawaii to North Carolina! They also performed this year for over 8,000 runners and supporters in the 2nd Annual Country Music Marathon.
With powerfully, heart-felt vocals, thought provoking lyrics and well-crafted tunes, Phileo is an act that one should definitely seek out!
