Philander was formed in 1999 as a 5 peice. Containing Brad (Drums), John (Guitar), Ed (Bass), Jim (Guitar) and Bee (Vocals).

After some problems with lead vocalist (Bee) he had exited the band. Shortly afterwards Philander Recruits every now and then freind (Ivan) to come and try some vocals out. Ivan had been officially added to the band.

So now if you've been paying attention, Its Brad, John, Ed, Jim and Ivan. They all record a 4 track demo called 'Master Jim-G 1' and it turns out... ehhh, Ok- I Guess? After Ed and Jim losing some interest and slacking off Brad, John and Ivan began to get on their ass about it. At a bar show Jim got mad when Ivan was correcting him after Jim had the worste show to date due to Jim and Ed skipping that weeks practice. So therefore Jim and Ed threatened to leave... Philander had no objection.

NOW~ What to do? Keep 1 guitarist and just get a bassist? Get another guitarist and bassist? Hmmmm.... Since Ivan can play basically everything he can just take the bass position and sing as well and there we go! So be it! It's Done. After this Philander is on a roll. Records the 9 track CD F-Tard which is awesome! Get some awesome gigs! Start feeling good about the band. The only thing is- We kinda feel like we have the 'Same Old Nu-Metal Sound' so we get a little bit of a different feel to the band. Ivan recruits a keyboard to the band but who to play it? Maybe we can get someone? Nah- Ivan learned how so there we go. How, might you ask, could ivan play bass, keyboards and sing? Don't Ask Me! But it gets done. That's all i care about. Now, We're gettin the best reaction ever for having an original sound. So what now? We've been currently (January, 2002) getting our shit together on the new material (BEST EVER!!) and we're going to have something new out by the spring/summer time. See ya then!
